The Silver Lake Conference Center has made a complete virtual worship service available for churches that they may use - in whole or in parts - to celebrate their church's participation in outdoor ministry
"Celebrating outdoor ministries in our local churches is a beautiful reflection of living the covenant that is the United Church of Christ," said the Rev. Ryan Gackenheimer, the Silver Lake Executive for Camps and Retreats. "Having a Silver Lake Sunday is a wonderful way to get campers, volunteers, and summer staff excited about Silver Lake Summer Camp. It is also an important way to share the life-changing ministry at Silver Lake with folks who might not see themselves as summer participants. The retreat ministry at Silver Lake is an important part of what happens here and truly is available to all throughout the year."

"I have been visiting churches, preaching, offering Children’s Messages, and more over the last 5 years, and this year a Virtual Silver Lake seemed like the best way to connect with as many churches as possible," Rev. Gackenheimer said. "Churches can choose from a full Silver Lake worship service to selecting a few elements to include in their traditional virtual service. So, just like Silver Lake ministry, there is something for every congregation and a place for everyone no matter where they are on their faith journey to Encounter God’s Love in Creation with Silver Lake."
The worship service incudes a call to worship, litany, song, prayers, children's message, Scripture readings and a sermon.
The service is in addition to other worship services the Conference plans to offer for church use for Good Friday, Pentecost, World Communion Sunday and the First Sunday after Christmas.
