SHARON – The Silver Lake Conference Center Board of Directors is excited to announce that nominations for the inaugural Silver Lake Award are open!

This new award will recognize a “Silver Laker” who lives their life and faith in a way that reflects the formative experiences they have had at Silver Lake Conference Center. This person truly takes Silver Lake home with them beyond Low Road.

In addition to being shaped by Silver Lake, the Silver Lake Award recipient has given back time, treasure, and talent to Silver Lake, and has made a significant and sustainable contribution to the ministry of Silver Lake.

As Silver Lake’s 60th Anniversary summer begins, Executive Director the Rev. Ryan Gackenheimer says now is a great time to lift up exceptional Silver Lakers.

"It is a blessing to have the new Silver Lake Award to begin to recognize more formally some of those who have been shaped so deeply by their experience of Silver Lake and have in turn lived their lives and faith in ways that have transformed the world reflecting the core values of Silver Lake,” he said.

Chrissie Wadelin, a member of the Silver Lake Board of Directors, said she looks forward to celebrating the first recipient of the award at the Fancy Camp Gala for Silver Lake.

“We are excited to be acknowledging the hard work and dedication of many of our members of the loyal SLCC family,” she said. “I'm hoping that Fancy Camp can continue to be a platform to celebrate the excellence that the Silver Lake community provides to our own community, and also the wider communities we serve.”

Nominations will be accepted through August 7. The winner will be announced at the Silver Lake 60th Anniversary Celebration on August 26th, and celebrated at the Silver Lake Fancy Camp Gala on November 18th at the Wallingford Country Club.

Submit your nomination online. Printed nomination forms are available at Silver Lake Conference Center.  Written nomination forms may be sent to Silver Lake Award, SLCC, 223 Low Rd., Sharon, CT 06069.
