Silver Lake Update - December 18, 2020

December 18, 2020

Silver Lake Conference Center Email Update to the staff and Board of the Southern New England Conference, UCC

The SLCC year-round staff has a goal to be more intentional about communicating our programs and activities with the wider SNE staff and Board. To do this, we aim to send a monthly email to the entire staff and Board with highlights of what we’ve been working on and upcoming events.

Family Retreats

"Bring your family to Silver Lake, where there is only spotty cell phone reception and wifi is only available in public areas. Leave your screens at home and get reacquainted with the people you spend every day with."

Summer 2021

Early registration opened on Dec. 15 to families that donated and/or rolled their 2020 payment to 2021. We have 40 campers registered already!

General registration opens January 15!

The Silver Lake staff is working on putting together some talking points for conference staff and church leaders to have the tools to talk with their church families about what to expect and look forward to for summer 2021.

For now, Ryan has put together an introduction video that was sent to all SNE churches and pastors. Watch the video here.

View the summer brochure, and learn more about summer camp at Silver Lake.

The 2021 Silver Lake Board of Directors

The Silver Lake Board of Directors Charter charges the board to “ensure that the Silver Lake mission is clearly articulated and effectively realized, developing and overseeing the implementation of long term strategic short term operational plans that result in a vital viable ministry.” In the spirit of that charge, here’s an update on a few projects the Silver Lake Board is working on, heading into 2021."

12 Days of Christmas At Home

Over sixty 12 Days of Christmas At Home Silver Lake Boxes were brought to the Post Office this week!

Like our innovative Silver Lake At Home summer program box, the 12 Days of Christmas Box has 12 days of activities, including crafts, baking, opportunities to get outside, and a chance to explore God, yourself, your neighbor, and creation at home with your family!

Find additional information and view the activity videos (once they're posted on the first day of Christmas) here.

Wrap-Up

The Virtual Retirement Celebration for Stephanie was a great success! Thank you to all who planned, attended, and donated.

There is still time to give to the 2020 Silver Lake Annual Appeal. Contributions to The Fund for Silver Lake help support our operational costs and enable us to continue to bring life-changing experiences to our community! Give today.

As we near the end of the year, and we take some time to reflect on all the new ways we were able to innovate (dare I say, pivot) this year, view some of Silver Lake's highlights from this past year.

We are honored to be in ministry with you, striving to make disciples of Jesus, form covenant partnerships, make God’s love and justice real, and bring new life as agents of change.
